San Diego Museum Month
So, it's museum month in San Diego county and I'm going to try and go to as many as I can....for fun....why not? I hope to be enlightened and learn something interesting.
My first museum visit was today at the Museum of Making Music. They had a lot of cool old instruments on display and you could listen to samples of music from different eras. I can't imagine the sound distortion if that place is ever really crowded, because the music is kinda loud. At the end they have a room where you could learn to play and actually try playing different instruments. I plucked a few strings...it was cool. I have learned that they have several cool concerts here, so I will be hopefully back to check those out sometime.
We'll see if I actually keep up with this adventure.

Find Us on Daily Mile!
Mike and I enjoy working out. He swims and lifts and I run and do yoga. Anyway, he's been on daily mile for a while and I joined a few months ago. Posting my workouts has really motivated me to workout more. I'm trying to be in ridiculous shape for my baby carrying days to hopefully make the whole process easier, but we'll get into that at a later date. For now, check out our pages and we hope to inspire others to join. We got Mike's mom to join!

New Blog Followings
Besides following some of our friends' blogs about their lives and happenings, I also follow some other interesting blogs that showcase art and skills. I've been following our wedding photographer, Kelly Photo, and a food blog, Phoo-D, for a while. The newest blogs I'm following include:
Marci Schwartz - Marci was in 4H with my best friend, Nicki. I used to go to a lot of fairs in the summertime to watch them all show cattle. Now, Marci is a great artist and also makes the most adorable hats for kids.
She says she's updating her blog, but she also has a shop on etsy.com.
Zen Glass Blog - One of my good friends from high school started this glass company in 2002. It's amazing the kind of things they can make with glass. You can also find more of their products on their website, zenglass.com. Josh's page shows some of the cool things he has made. Of course, they are on facebook too!
Then, there's Jethro and Shannon's blog. Jethro and I have been really good friends since we met at K-State. We were lab partners in Physics. He studies birds and migration patterns for a living. He sets up nets and catches birds and then measures them and tags them before setting them free. He leads an interesting life, always living in different parts of the U.S. throughout the year. His job is seasonal, so recently he was in Alaska for Spring, Idaho for Spring/Summer, and Maine for Fall. His girlfriend and he finally started a blog tracking their studies and they have some really cool pictures of nature and birds and other animals.
I just came across Circle S Ranch's blog, which is the place we got married. It's been fun seeing what they've been up to as well. I just learned they have chicken's now and will be providing eggs. I'm not sure where or how they will be selling them exactly.

Online Article About Our Australia Trip
I subscribe to a lot of travel magazines and I love to write about our trips. I contacted Budget Travel Magazine (one of my favorites) the end of last year when they asked to hear about readers' 2010 travel plans. The online editor contacted me shortly after we got back from Australia in January and said she was interested in hearing about our trip. She asked me to fill out an interview questionnaire. I filled it out and emailed it to her, but I didn't hear anything from her. I assumed she wasn't interested after all. Several weeks later, I got an email from her saying they wanted to put my interview online the following week. I answered a couple of follow up questions and the interview was posted last week!
So, go check it out: Australia Trip Interview.
Also, if you haven't noticed our new travel blog link on the side bar, check it out: Mike & Theresa's Travel Journal

Sharkwater Movie
Ever since I heard about the movie, Sharkwater, I've wanted to watch it. Mike and I finally watched this movie last night. It is so sad and eye opening. I knew that sharks were being killed for their fins, but I just didn't realize how bad it was and that some of the most beautiful places in the world were allowing shark fishing. I think it is a great movie that everyone should watch, especially those people "afraid" of sharks. You can learn more by visiting http://www.savingsharks.com/ or http://www.sharkwater.com/.

Cool Cooking Website
Mike and I like to cook and we use a few internet sites for recipes. We discovered a new site a while back while watching the news one morning. This site allows you to watch a video that shows you how to cook the recipes as well as giving you the written recipe. We've added the link to our Food Links down the right side of our blog.
