So, I don't have my dress picked out and our wedding is 8 months away! I know I still have plenty of time. I went to try on dresses today. After 4 dresses, I was all sweaty and tired. I've gone to try on dresses twice now. I have seen probably 2, maybe 3 dresses I like so far. So, the dress I'm looking for is nothing like this one. I want one that's simple yet elegant. One that doesn't have a lot of lace and beads. And one that costs 3 figures, not 4!I've heard horror stories about going to bridal shops. My financial advisor gave me this book called "Bridal Bargains" http://www.windsorpeak.com/bridalbargains. I never knew shopping for a wedding dress could be such a pain. You have to watch out for shops that cut the tags off their dresses so that you don't know who makes it. This way you don't go out and price shop or the shop can mark up the cheaper dresses. Some designers are always late on their orders or some shops go out of business and don't give brides their money back. You have to put 50% down when you order a dress. We are going back to Kansas City this weekend for some fun wedding planning. I'm going to go shopping in KC on Sat with my mom and sister. Maybe I'll find my dress, maybe not. I think once I have my dress picked out, everything else will be a breeze. Wish me luck!!
This is the view from our current apartment. It is going to be so hard to say goodbye!!!
So this is what Mike does when he gets bored and I am at work. He teases my overweight cat, Jazz. Here, he has put a treat inside this container and watches and laughes as Jazz tries to get it out. Well, I guess Jazz had this stuck on his head and was walking around with it on his head for a while until he figured out how to get out. Always picking on the fat cat!
We had Mike's grandmother take our engagment pictures. We went out to La Jolla Cove twice. She took mostly black and whites the first day. They turned out really great and went back out another day to get some sunset pictures. We took a bunch waiting for the sun to go down, but that roll didn't turn out. Oh well, we ended up getting quite a few after she changed rolls for the sun set. They all turned out really great and I didn't have to pay someone $200 just to take them! She is an awesome lady!
Welcome to our blog! We have a lot of things going on with the wedding that we wanted everyone that was interested to be up to date with our planning. We will be adding pictures of our planning as well as experiences. We also bought a new condo in Del Mar that will be ready in April 2006 most likely. We are so excited! We will try to get some pictures up of our place as well. Love to all, Mike and Theresa
