This was the first time I'd ever gone kayaking in the La Jolla cove, Mike had been before. We decided to go with some friends last Saturday. There were so many people kayaking that we had to wait for people to come back from their trip to get paddles and life vests for ourselves. You couldn't have asked for better conditions, the water was very calm. We brought snorkel gear with us, so we could jump out whenever. There were leopard sharks in the water, they come up to the Shores every year to spawn. I jumped in for a few minutes and was able to see a few. I had a good view from the kayak also.
Here were some seals sunning on the rocks.
